Man killed by suspected drunk driver in Aurora

With the Broncos in the Super Bowl this year, practically all of Denver was glued to their TV sets this past Sunday. The party-like atmosphere also resulted in a good number of people enjoying a few alcoholic beverages. Unfortunately, people do make mistakes and drive their cars after they have been drinking, which many times ends tragically in drunk driving accidents.

A man who recently was walking across the southbound lanes of Interstate 225 near the 2700 block was hit by a drunk driver. The man was pronounced dead at a hospital. The woman drove away, but was followed by a witness who provided police with her license plate number. She has been arrested and police suspect that she was intoxicated when she hit the man.

When a person is killed by a drunk driver, his or her family can be completely turned upside down. Besides the devastation of unexpectedly losing a loved one, there are also many expenses resulting from the death. A legal professional skilled in personal injury law can help a family determine what happened to cause their loved one's death. They can investigate the crash, determine who was at fault and work to hold that person accountable for their negligence. They can also help sort out the estate, including distributing property, personal business issues, etc.

Families who are affected by drunk drivers have many legal rights. Holding a drunk driver accountable for his or her actions can help families recover from their financial losses and begin to move on from the insurmountable grief of losing a loved one.
